Pay local QR codes without a local bank account

SurfCash is a self-custodial money app for people living or traveling abroad. You hold a USD balance on your phone, scan a supported local QR code, review the recipient and the current quote, then confirm. The merchant receives local currency. You never open a local bank account to complete that payment.

Traditional cards get declined or hide 3–6% conversion fees. International wires take days. Opening a bank account in Vietnam, Brazil, Nigeria, the Philippines, or Mexico usually needs residency paperwork most visitors do not have. SurfCash skips that path: scan VietQR, PIX, PalmPay, QRPh, or SPEI, pay in about ten seconds, and pay a 0.5% platform fee.

How it works

  1. Download SurfCash for iOS or Android and create a self-custodial wallet. Only you hold the keys.
  2. Add funds to your USD balance.
  3. Scan a supported QR terminal at checkout.
  4. Confirm. Licensed payment partners settle the merchant in local currency.
